About this product
A tub for the hard surfaces of the house

Open the lid and you find a firm paste with a sponge sitting on it. Wet the sponge, rub it on the paste until it foams, and that foam goes over the stainless sink, the glass cooktop, the chrome of the faucet, a porcelain basin or a dull pan. Then you rinse and wipe dry. The paste is clay, vegetable oil, vegetable glycerin and fragrance, and the tub is made in France.
Each tub holds 10.58 ounces, and you use only a little at a time, so it sits in the cupboard for a long while. Pick one of five scents, lemon, eucalyptus, grapefruit, lavender or mint & lime, as a single tub or a pair. Lemon also comes three to a pack. Keep it off brass, marble, natural stone and wood, which the label leaves to other products.
If the Cleaner & Polish is close but not quite it, the cleaning paste shelf has 1 more product from the Shadazzle family of cleaners.
Sponge in the tub
The sponge sits on the paste inside the tub, so the first clean needs nothing but water from the tap.
Rinse and dry
Rinse well and dry with a clean cloth: a wipe left wet can dry to a white film.
Five scents
The paste is the same in every tub. Only the fragrance and the color of the label change.
How to use it
- 1Wet the spongeRun the sponge from the tub under the tap and squeeze it out.
- 2Make foamRub the damp sponge over the paste and work it until it foams. Use the paste sparingly: a few turns is enough.
- 3CleanMove the foam over the surface with light pressure, a little at a time.
- 4Rinse and dryRinse thoroughly, then wipe dry with a clean cloth, so no white film is left behind.
What is inside
The ingredient list on the tub, and what each one is there for.
- Clay
- the fine mineral part that does the polishing as the sponge moves
- Vegetable oil
- plant oil, part of what turns to lather on the wet sponge
- Vegetable glycerin
- a plant-based ingredient that keeps the paste soft in the tub
- Fragrance
- the scent of the tub you pick
Before you start
Use the paste with water on the sponge and nothing else: poison control advice is never to mix cleaning products, because some mixtures give off a dangerous gas. Keep the tub closed, in its own container, up and out of children's reach. On a glass cooktop, read the cooktop manual first, since some makers warn against any abrasive. On silver, go lightly and rarely, and leave plated or gilded pieces alone.
